I haven't read Mrs Dalloway - sounds like an omission I should correct sharpish!

I love the image of a tailspinning idea, sounds much more exciting than mine, but I can see that it might not be the best way of getting things down on paper. Would you like to write a novel? I think the original idea is probably a mythical beast, but I reckon it's worth commissioning an expedition to search for it, just in case.

I like your blog by the way. Did I tell you that already? I meant to. Have you published any of the results of Parker/Sophocles?Dan Hingehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11142039441556967461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6574931577839823627.post-64027874012642430472013-05-11T21:09:50.608+01:002013-05-11T21:09:50.608+01:00Hello! Grand post - you've really got this who...Hello! Grand post - you've really got this whole 'writing' lark. I was wondering re. The Matadora - have you read 'Mrs Dalloway'? Two completely opposite main characters with a brutally clear resolution for only one - maybe you could use that sort of technique? Anyway. Just a thought! I'm sure you've had others.
Your idea progression is much more structured than mine. Every idea I have tailspins out of my internal Woody Allen-style monologue. Probably why I've never written a novel..! The only things I have got down on paper have come from inspiration invoked by direct source material - one from a Dorothy Parker poem and the other from Sophocles. I reassure myself on the basis that there's no such thing as an original idea, but you seem to be pretty good at those, too...
NAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
